NASA has released information about opportunities for schools and educational groups to interact with astronauts via ARISS. I think it would be awesome to hear about seasoned Hams giving school children the opportunity of a lifetime by coordinating a session at a local school. There are two ways to give students a chance to hear from astronauts according to NASA.
“Downlinks are 20-minute multimedia events where participants see and hear crew members live from space, but the crew has only audio connectivity. The downlinks are broadcast live on NASA Television and streamed on the agency’s website. ARISS events are 10-minute sessions during which participants speak with the crew through amateur radio.”
If you setup either type of session I would love to hear about it. Also, if you need help I would be happy to help in any way that I can.
